I first saw this running from behind play tactic from the Sydney Swans in 2021 based off player movement in soccer but you now see a lot of it in AFLW because it's very effective to lengthening the ground and maintaining team connection all over the ground + they sort of have to do it with 2 less players on the ground (it needs to change to 18 IMO).
It's easily something that could, and should, be introduced to local/amateur football which is usually go forward at all costs as fast as we possibly can which results in a lot of inefficient football even at lower levels of football.
This is crystal clear example of what it looks like and how it can be a powerful tactic to add to your existing game strategy.
