SYDNEY SWANS FAKE KICK OUT TACTIC
I can't remember if this was from last week's game against North Melbourne or the week before against Essendon but the mighty Sydney Swans used a nice little tactic to throw the opposition of where their kickout was going.
This is pretty easily replicable for any club as long as the game model is being followed by each player as far as starting positions and then player movement is concerned.
From there it's simply a matter of running through it at training to get the timing and sequencing correct as well as deciding which player/s are able to do the exact type of kick that will be required in that specific game action.
The kicking out player can handball or short kick to the 1st option depending on how the defensive zone is set up and where that closest defender is but the player receiving the ball must be able to play on immediately and not have to go back and kick over the man on the mark.
Here's how it played out...
