One golden rule of mine is to always take what's given to you so you don't end up forcing something that isn't quite there or an option that has a far lower % of completion.
In this instance you can clearly see a Geelong teammate latera; to the ball player who looks right at her as she pushes back but totally ignores here.
Once you ignore that wide option then her defender is essentially an extra defenders she can now hang further off her then she was orignally going to and she does, to the point that she actually intercepts the kick into a small but outnumbered crowd from a Geelong point of view.
Make as many defenders as accountable as you can!
